Needle valve manufacturer in Europe
ValvesOnly Europe is a Needle Valve Manufacturer in Europe, designing and manufacturing needle valves for precise flow regulation in high pressure and high temperature piping systems. We control every stage of production, from raw material selection and CNC machining to assembly, testing, and dispatch, allowing tight tolerances across every batch. Our needle valves are supplied to process plants, EPC contractors, instrumentation panel builders, and stockists across Europe.
What is a Needle Valve?
A needle valve is an instrument used to regulate fluid flow. It is a mechanical flow regulating device which employs a thin tapered stem to control flow through a small opening. The linear motion of the stem is effected by rotating the hand wheel, which slowly opens or closes the opening. Such type of valves find applications where precise flow rate control is required.
Working Principle:
Rotating the handwheel drives the tapered needle stem up or down within the valve body. As the needle approaches the seat, the annular flow area shrinks gradually rather than abruptly, allowing near-linear control between fully open and fully closed positions. This slow losing action also reduces the risk of water hammer and pressure surges in the line, compared with quarter turn valve types.
Design and Construction Features:
- Tapered needle point stem for gradual, precise throttling
- Fine pitch threading on the stem for accurate flow adjustment per handwheel turn
- Non rotating stem tip option to prevent seat wear during repeated cycling
- Back seating design that isolates packing from line pressure when fully open, permitting packing maintenance without full system shutdown
- Bar stock or forged body construction for compact, void free bodies
- Multiple bonnet configurations: bolted bonnet, union bonnet, and integral bonnet
- Panel mount and in-line orientations for instrumentation manifolds and skid assemblies
- Anti blowout stem design to retain the stem within the bonnet under pressure

Materials of Construction:
- Body and bonnet: Stainless steel (SS316/316L, SS304), carbon steel (A105, A350 LF2), alloy steel, duplex and super duplex steel, Monel, Hastelloy, titanium
- Stem: Hardened stainless steel or alloy steel for wear resistance at the needle tip
- Seat: Integral metal seat or PTFE/PEEK soft seat, depending on service
- Packing: PTFE, graphite, or PEEK, selected for temperature and chemical exposure
- Fasteners: Stainless steel or alloy steel bolting to match body material and service class
Applications of Needle Valve:
- Instrumentation and sampling lines in process plants
- Oil and gas wellhead, pipeline, and offshore platform systems
- Chemical processing and petrochemical facilities
- Power generation plants, including boiler feedwater and steam sampling lines
- Hydraulic and pneumatic control circuits
- Water and wastewater treatment plants
- Marine and shipbuilding piping systems
- Gauge and pressure relief manifold assemblies
- Bleed, vent, and drain point isolation
Manufacturing and Quality Control:
Each needle valve is machined on CNC turning and milling centers to hold dimensional tolerances on the stem taper, seat bore, and thread pitch. In process checks cover material traceability via mill test certificates, dimensional inspection, and surface finish verification. Before dispatch, valves undergo:
- Shell (hydrostatic) testing per API 598 / EN 12266-1
- Seat leakage testing
- Backseat leakage testing where applicable
- Visual and dimensional inspection against approved drawings
Standards and Certifications:
- Design: ASME B16.34, MSS SP-99, API 602
- Testing: API 598, EN 12266
- Flanged ends: ASME B16.5, EN 1092-1
- Fire safe design available to API 607 / API 6FA on request
- Material certification: EN 10204 3.1 and 3.2
- NACE MR0175 / MR0103 compliant material options
Needle Valve Solutions for Industrial Projects:
Valvesonly Europe manufactures needle valves in house, giving direct control over material sourcing, machining tolerances, and testing documentation. We supply custom stem tapers, non standard end connections, and application specific material combinations for projects that fall outside catalog offerings. Technical drawings, material certificates, and test reports are provided with every order, and our engineering team supports valve selection based on line pressure, temperature, and media compatibility.
