Plug Valve Manufacturer in Germany
ValvesOnly Europe, a Plug Valve Manufacturer in Germany, designs and manufactures plug valves for on/off and diverting service across oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical processing, power generation, marine, pulp & paper, mining, and water & wastewater infrastructure. Each valve is built to match line pressure, temperature, and media compatibility requirements defined by the project specification.Â
What is a Plug Valve?
Plug valves consist of a cylindrical or conical plug with holes through which the media flows in order to control, start, or divert flow in the pipeline. The 90 degree rotation of the plug controls the flow from the valve by opening or closing the port in relation to the seat in the valve body.
Working Principle:
The plug sits inside the valve body and rotates on a vertical axis. In the open position, the bore in the plug lines up with the inlet and outlet ports, allowing straight through flow with minimal pressure drop. A 90° turn moves the solid section of the plug across the flow path, sealing against the body seat or a sleeve/liner to stop flow. Sealing is achieved either through metal to metal contact under lubrication, a resilient sleeve, or a spring energized seat, depending on valve type.
Types of Plug Valve:
- Connection Lift Plug Valve – Lifts the plug off the seat before rotating, cutting wear on slurry and solids bearing lines.
- Eccentric Plug Valve – Off center rotation clears the seat during travel, touching it only at closure for low torque and long seat life.
- Orbit Plug Valve – Cam guided path lifts the plug clear while turning, then seats it with straight line compression on abrasive media.
- Twin Seal Plug Valve – Dual spring loaded seals give bidirectional double block and bleed with in-line seat inspection.
- Jacketed Plug Valve – Circulating jacket holds process temperature, preventing solidification in high viscosity lines.
- Lubricated Plug Valve – Injected sealant fills tolerances and lowers torque for high pressure hydrocarbon and gas service.
- Non Lubricated Sleeved Plug Valve – Fixed PTFE/elastomer sleeve gives a maintenance free, low torque seal for corrosive, frequent cycle duty.
- 3 Way Plug Valve – Three port bore enables diversion, mixing, or by pass, replacing multiple two-way valves.
