Gate Valve

Gate Valve Manufacturer in Germany

ValvesOnly Europe manufactures and supplies gate valves designed for isolation and shut-off applications requiring a full, unobstructed flow path. Gate valves provide full bore flow with minimal pressure loss when fully open, making them suitable for on/off service.

Our range includes DIN, BS, ANSI, and API gate valves in rising stem and non rising stem designs, with soft seated and metal seated options, available in carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and SS316L.

What is a Gate Valve?

A Gate Valve is a linear motion isolation valve that controls fluid flow by raising or lowering a gate perpendicular to the flow path. It is designed for full open or fully closed service, providing minimal pressure drop and tight shut-off in pipelines across various industrial applications.

How a Gate Valve Works:

  • Gate valve operates with the help of a flat or wedge shaped plate moving along the machined seating of the valve.
  • The operation of the gate is controlled by the stem connected to the handwheel or gearing system or actuator.
  • With the plate being lifted off from the seating of the valve body, it provides a straight through passageway with less turbulence and frictional loss than the globe/angle valve designs.
  • Because the gate is either fully retracted or fully seated, gate valves are built for open/close isolation duty.
  • Operating them in a partially open position exposes the seat and gate face to erosive flow, accelerating wear a limitation our design and material selection account for through hardfacing, stellite overlay, and precision lapped seating surfaces.

Gate Valve Types We Manufacture:

  • DIN Non Rising Stem Gate Valve – Compact design for buried pipelines and limited-space installations.
  • DIN Rising Stem Gate Valve – Rising stem provides a clear visual indication of valve position.
  • ANSI Gate Valve – Designed to ASME standards for industrial piping systems.
  • API Gate Valve – Manufactured to API standards for oil, gas, and process applications.
  • SS316L Gate Valve – Stainless steel construction for corrosion resistant service.
  • Bellows Seal Gate Valve – Metallic bellows design minimizes fugitive emissions.
  • Forged Steel Gate Valve – High strength forged body for high pressure applications.
  • BS Rising Stem Gate Valve – British Standard valve with visible stem movement.
  • Double Disc Gate Valve – Parallel disc design reduces seat binding during thermal cycling.
  • Pressure Seal Gate Valve – Pressure assisted bonnet sealing for high pressure service.
  • BS Soft Seat Gate Valve – Resilient seat design provides bubble tight shut off.
  • DIN Soft Seat Gate Valve – Resilient seated valve for water distribution systems.
  • BS Non-Rising Stem Gate Valve – Enclosed stem design suitable for underground pipelines.
  • BS Non Rising Stem Gate Valve – The stem enclosed within the body common on buried and underground water distribution mains.

Core components include:

  • Body and bonnet – pressure retaining shell, bolted, welded, or pressure seal jointed
  • Gate/wedge/disc – solid wedge, flexible wedge, split wedge, or parallel double disc
  • Seat rings – integral, screwed in, or welded, in metal to metal or soft seated configurations
  • Stem – rising or non rising, connecting the gate to the actuating mechanism
  • Yoke – supports the stem nut and, in OS&Y designs, keeps stem threads isolated from the process fluid
  • Packing and gland – seals the stem against external leakage, with live loaded or bellow sealed options for fugitive emission control
