Working:
To control the flow of fluids, a globe valve raises or lowers a disk or plug inside the valve body. When the valve is open, the disc’s location helps the fluid flow through the valve body. How Does a Globe Valve Operate?
A globe valve functions by displacing a disc or plug perpendicular to the flow path within a spherical valve body. The valve includes a handwheel or actuator that lifts or lowers the disc to regulate fluid flow.
Open Position: The disc is raised, and fluid flows freely.
Throttling Position: The disc is opened halfway, constricting flow to control pressure and velocity.
Closed Position: The disc is fully dropped, obstructing fluid flow.
While gate valves offer less flow control, globe valves offer more flow control because of their spherical body and an internal baffle that directs fluid flow.
Bellow Seal Globe Valve Description:
A metal bellow is employed to avoid leakage in a bellow seal globe valve, and therefore it is appropriate for toxic or dangerous fluid applications.
