Pneumatic Actuated Valve

Pneumatic Actuated Valve Manufacturer in Europe

ValvesOnly Europe manufactures and supplies pneumatic actuated valves for automated flow control in industrial applications. Fitted with pneumatic actuators, these valves provide fast, accurate, and repeatable operation for on/off isolation and modulating service.

Our range is suitable for oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation, marine, water treatment, mining, pulp & paper, and other process industries.

What is a Pneumatic Actuated Valve?

A pneumatic actuated valve is a valve assembly fitted with a pneumatic actuator that uses compressed air to generate the torque or thrust required to open, close, or throttle the valve. The actuator converts air pressure into mechanical motion through a piston or diaphragm mechanism, which is transferred to the valve stem or shaft via a coupling, yoke, or bracket assembly.

How Does a Pneumatic Actuated Valve Work?

  • Compressed air is supplied to the pneumatic actuator through a solenoid valve or air control system.
  • Air pressure moves the actuator piston or diaphragm, generating mechanical force.
  • The actuator converts air pressure into rotary or linear motion, depending on the valve type.
  • The valve stem is driven to open, close, or regulate the flow of the process fluid.
  • For spring return actuators, the spring automatically returns the valve to its fail safe position when the air supply is lost.
  • For double acting actuators, compressed air is used for both opening and closing operations.
  • Positioners and limit switches can be integrated to provide accurate valve positioning and remote monitoring in automated control systems.

Types of Pneumatic Actuated Valve:

  • Pneumatic Actuated Ball Valve – Quarter turn valve for fast and reliable shut off.
  • Pneumatic Actuated Gate Valve – Automated full bore valve for pipeline isolation.
  • Pneumatic Actuated Globe Valve – Linear valve for accurate flow regulation.
  • Pneumatic Actuated Plug Valve – Quick operating valve for slurries and viscous media.
  • Pneumatic Actuated Knife Gate Valve – Designed for slurry and solids handling applications.
  • Pneumatic Actuated Butterfly Valve – Compact quarter turn valve for frequent operation in large pipelines.

Actuator Types Used:

  • Pneumatic Rack and Pinion Actuator – for quarter turn valves (ball, butterfly, plug) compact and suited for high cycle applications.
  • Pneumatic Scotch Yoke Actuator – delivers higher torque output for large diameter quarter turn valves and high pressure service.
  • Pneumatic Diaphragm Actuator – used on globe and control valves for linear, modulating motion.
  • Pneumatic Piston (Linear) Actuator – for gate, globe, and knife gate valves requiring linear thrust.
  • Spring Return (Single-Acting) Actuator – provides fail safe operation to a fixed position on air failure.
  • Double Acting Actuator – uses air pressure for both opening and closing strokes, requires continuous air supply.
