Alloy20 Valve Manufacturer in Germany
Valvesonly Europe manufactures Alloy 20 valves for handling sulfuric acid and other corrosive media across process piping systems. As a manufacturer, we produce Alloy 20 valves in ball, butterfly, check, gate, globe, and plug configurations for chemical processing lines, acid transfer systems, and corrosive fluid handling applications.
What is an Alloy 20 Valve?
An Alloy 20 valve is a valve manufactured from Alloy 20 (UNS N08020), a nickel iron chromium alloy with molybdenum and copper additions, designed for handling sulfuric acid and other aggressive acidic media. The alloy composition provides resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in acid service, making it suited for valve bodies, trims, and wetted components in acid handling piping systems.
Types of Alloy 20 Valve:
- Alloy 20 Ball Valve – Quarter turn valve for tight shut-off in corrosive applications.
- Alloy 20 Butterfly Valve – Compact valve for isolation and flow control in large pipelines.
- Alloy 20 Check Valve – Prevents reverse flow in corrosive process systems.
- Alloy 20 Gate Valve – Full bore valve for isolation with minimal pressure drop.
- Alloy 20 Globe Valve – Linear valve for accurate flow regulation.
- Alloy 20 Plug Valve – Quarter turn valve for handling corrosive fluids and slurries.
Why Alloy 20 valve?
- Resists sulfuric acid corrosion across a range of concentrations and temperatures, where carbon steel and standard stainless steel grades fall short
- Copper content improves resistance to acid attack in sulfuric acid service
- Molybdenum content supports resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments
- Maintains resistance to stress corrosion cracking over extended service life
- Preferred material for valve bodies and trims in acid transfer, acid storage, and acid dosing systems

Selection Criteria for Alloy 20 Valve:
- Acid concentration and operating temperature at the valve location
- Presence of chlorides or other contaminants affecting corrosion resistance
- Line size and required flow control (isolation vs. throttling)
- Seat material compatibility with the process fluid
- End connection type based on piping specification
- Actuation requirement (manual, gear, or actuated operation)
Installation Points for Alloy 20 Valve:
- Sulfuric acid storage and transfer lines
- Acid dosing and metering systems
- Effluent treatment and neutralization units
- Pickling and acid regeneration circuits
- Metal processing and surface treatment lines
Materials of Construction:
Our Alloy 20 valves are manufactured with Alloy 20 body, bonnet, ball, disc, plug, or wedge as applicable, with seat and seal materials in PTFE or reinforced PTFE for chemical compatibility with acid media, and stem material in Alloy 20 or equivalent corrosion resistant grades.
