What is a Super Duplex Valve?

Super Duplex valve is an alloy of two phase stainless steel, which means it is a combination of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel with high content of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen. The two phase nature of stainless steel enables it to combine strength and resistance to corrosion properties that cannot be achieved by single phase stainless steel. It is for this reason that Super Duplex valves are suitable for applications such as sea water injection and sour service due to the high chloride environments.

Types of Super Duplex Valve:

  • Super Duplex Ball Valve – A quarter turn valve with a spherical bore, built for tight shut off and minimal pressure loss.
  • Super Duplex Globe Valve – A linear valve that uses a disc and seat arrangement to regulate flow.
  • Super Duplex Butterfly Valve – A rotary disc valve, compact and lightweight, suited to large diameter lines.
