What is a Lug Butterfly Valve?

A Lug Butterfly Valve is a quarter-turn valve with threaded inserts (or “lugs”) placed on both sides of the valve body. With these lugs, the valve can be bolted in between two pipe flanges, permitting dead-end service on one side without interfering with the other, which is not possible in wafer-style configurations.

Working Principle

The valve works on the principle of turning a disc that is placed in the middle of the pipe.
