What is a Brass Valve?

The Brass Valve is a flow control component made from brass alloy and is used to control the start, stop, regulation, and direction of flow of liquid or gas within the piping system. Brass valves are chosen because of the excellent machining property, anti corrosive property in water and air, and thermal stability.

Types of Brass Valve:

  • Brass Ball Valve – Uses a rotating bored ball for quarter turn shut off with minimal flow restriction.
  • Brass Check Valve – Allows flow in one direction only, closing automatically to prevent backflow.
  • Brass Gate Valve – Uses a sliding gate for full open or full closed operation with minimal flow obstruction.
  • Brass Globe Valve – Uses a disc and seat mechanism to throttle and regulate flow rate.
  • Brass Safety Valve – Opens automatically above a set pressure to relieve excess system pressure.
  • Brass Y Strainer – Filters particulate matter from the line using a removable mesh screen housed in a Y-shaped body.

Materials of Construction:

Our brass valves are made using forged brass (CW617N) and cast brass bodies, with the inner workings being made of brass, bronze, and stainless steel, depending on the type of the valve. The seat and seals use PTFE, NBR, and EPDM, depending on the media and temperature.
